1931 – The first batteries were manufactured by First National Battery in South Africa
1969 – Merger with Raylite
1976 – Merger with Chloride
1990 – First National Battery becomes a registered trademark
1995 – The company is bought and wholly owned by Metair Investments
1995 – First lead smelter becomes operational
1999 – First National Battery acquires Darmag Plastic Plant
2001 – A dedicated industrial plant is opened
2009 – AGM battery produced
2011 – Extremely vibration resistant truck battery launched
2012 – Li-ion Miner’s Cap Lamp launched
