FLAT PLATE CELLS
Designed for all standby duties, including power stations,
telephone exchanges, telecommunications, and emergency lighting.
Noteworthy advantages of these cells are:

A simple hydrometer reading indicates the state of charge, facilitating inspection, test and maintenance.
Increased capacity, combined with decreased volume and weight.
Life expectancy of around 15 years.
Float-charge operation, always ready for use.
Cells comply with
SABS IEC 60896-1:1987
and conform to
SABS ISO 9001
Quality Management System.
DESIGN FEATURES
POSITIVE PLATES are constructed of 5mm thick industrial paste grid alloys, in a long-life paste formulation, suitable for float charge and cycling applications.
NEGATIVE PLATES are of industrial pasted grid construction, for balanced performance and life.
SEPARATORS, of glass fibre matting and Porvic 2 (sintered microporous PVC), which form a complete diaphragm between the plates. This method of dual separation ensures retention of positive active material while affording minimum internal resistance.
VISUAL INSPECTION CONTAINERS, moulded from transparent styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) ensure optimum transparency and very high insulating qualities which eliminate the need for separate cell insulators.
CELL LIDS are moulded from opaque SAN permanently sealed to the container.
VENT PLUGS are of a special design which effectively returns all acid spray to the cell, but allows free exit of oxygen and hydrogen gases.
